Santa Fe, New Mexico

September 10 - 13, 2017

Come explore New Mexican cuisine from the contributions of Georgia O'Keeffe, the Native traditions and Spanish influences along with the talented chefs who bring their own modern take on this earthy and fiery cuisine.

Day 1: Sunday, September 10

Morning arrival at your hotel, La Posada de Santa Fe. Once a sanctuary for the likes of Georgia O'Keeffe, this luxury hotel and Spa keeps its creative tradition strong, employing an onsite curator who oversees over 600 pieces of art. You’ll stay in an adobe casita fringing the mansion, where they have easy access to La Posada's spa, bar, and poolside café.

Private Docent Tour of Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. This museum opened to the public in July 1997, eleven years after the death Ms. O'Keeffe. A visit offers insight not only into the artist’s paintings, but also her creative process and the light and landscape that inspired her.

Walking History Tour – Guided visit to the historic Plaza, Palace of the Governors, St. Francis Cathedral, and other major Santa Fe historical sites.

Welcome dinner at Eloisa. After having two successful restaurants in LA, Chef John Rivera Sedlar has returned to his roots in New Mexico. John named his restaurant after his grandmother who was the first person to teach him to cook. She was also Georgia O’Keefe’s personal chef for 15 years. Tonight you’ll begin to hear the Georgia O’Keefe “food” story through John’s stories and amazing food. And yes, Georgia O’Keeffe was a foodie.

The 5,000-square-foot Spanish Colonial-era Abiquiu compound was in ruins in 1945, and for the next four years, O’Keeffe supervised its restoration.

Lunch at Abiquiu Inn.

On the way back to Santa Fe, visit Visit Roxanne Swentzell’s Studio, a native American clay & bronze sculptor and contemporary pueblo artist with a gallery located near Santa Fe New Mexico. Her figures represent a full range of emotions and irrepressible moods.
